Prerequisites

  1. An Equipment Template must already exists. The Inspection Template is assigned to the Equipment Template.

  2. Attribute Groups or Indicator Groups as part of the Equipment Template. When mapping to Equipment Template Attributes, you will be asked to select an Attribute or Indicator Group first.

Step 1 - Template Attributes and Indicators

Any Attributes of Indicators, or Code Lists, that you want to see in the Inspection Template must first be defined within the Equipment Master Data. The Attributes and Indicators must further be assigned to an Attribute or Indicator Group as part of the Template.

You can ask to capture data on the Inspection form that is not mapped to the Equipment. This will be performed with an ASPM Question only, with no assigned Equipment Attribute or Indicator.

Note: If the Equipment Template Attribute or Indicators exist for another Inspection Template or purpose, there is no need to recreate them.

Step 2 - ASPM Sections

The Inspection Template will need a minimum of two Sections:

  1. One for the header

  2. A minimal of one Section for the Checklist part of the Inspection template.

An Example of a Section could be:

  • Background Information (e.g. Header)

  • Insulation

  • Internals

  • Supports

The Section can be created in the SAP App found at Assessment Template\Impacts & Sections (shown in image).

Note: If the Section or Question exists for another Inspection Template or purpose, there is no need to recreate them.

Step 3 - ASPM Questions

The ASPM Question is a means to gather the information from the user on the Inspection form. An examples of this would be

  • Insulation Type

  • Scope

  • Inspection Date

  • Condition

Optionally, if you would like to map the Question to the Equipment template, the question can be mapped to one or more Attributes or Indicators.

If the question is mapped to an Attribute or Indicator, the relevant data type defined against the Attribute or Indicator (Text, Date, Picklist, Numeric, etc…) will automatically be enforced in the Inspection Form. Mapping Questions to Attributes or Indicators is performed in the AsInt Inspection template App.

The Questions can be created in the in A SAP App found at Assessment Template\Dimensions & Questions (shown in image).

Note: You can map the ASPM Question to multiple Attributes or Indicators, the User Interface will adapt to it on the Inspection Form. For example:

Question = “Supports” -> Mapped to two Equipment Attributes of “Condition” and “Findings”, the user will be asked to provide both values for the question “Supports” on the Inspection Form.

Step 4 - Creating a new Inspection Template

An Inspection Template consists of:

  1. The Equipment Template it is assigned too.

  2. The Header to be displayed.

  3. The Checklist to ask of the User (e.g. one or more Sections).

The End User App will combine the above 1-3 items with defined CML’s, Photos, and Notification creation to provide the complete Inspection Report.

To create an Inspection Template, follow the below steps in the AsInt Inspection Template App.

  1. Navigate to AsInt Inspection Templates -> Checklists

  2. Tap the “New” button in above right of the table.

  3. In the dialog box:

    1. Provide a Description (ex: API 510 Internal)

    2. Long Description (will not be displayed in end user App)

    3. Relevant for: Choose “Equipment”

    4. Checklist Type: Chose “Simple Checklist”

Step 5 - Providing the details to the Inspection Template

The next step after creating a New Inspection Template is to start filling in the details. Follow the below steps to create the relevant information of the template:

  1. In “ASSIGNMENTS”, assign one or more Equipment Templates. This step ensures when adding a new Inspection against the Equipment with the template, the Inspection template will be available. Additionally, this steps allows for mapping of Attributes and Indicators for the template.

  2. Add at-least two Sections to the Template. One will be used for the Header, the others will be displayed in the Checklist.

  3. Assign one of the Sections in the “INSPECTION HEADER MAPPING” to be displayed as the “Inspection Header”

  4. Assign one or more Sections in the “CHECKLIST MAPPING” tab, being careful not to select what was used for the INSPECTION HEADER MAPPING. Note, at this stage you can elect if a Comment is required for this Section.

  5. For Each Section, assign at-least one Question.

  6. Optionally, for each Question, assign one or more Attributes or Indicators to map to the Equipment Template.

Step 6 - Publish the Inspection Template

The final step is to publish the Inspection Template. The revising and publishing of the Inspection Template can be performed through as many iterations necessary to achieve the desired results.

Two import notes:

  1. The Inspection Template will not be available to record against an Equipment if it is not in “Published” state.

  2. Once the Inspection Templates is saved against the Equipment, the Template will persist against the Equipment in its current state. Meaning, if there are future changes to the Inspection Template, it will not be shown without creating a “New” Inspection against the Equipment.
