What RBI approaches or models does AsInt provide?

The CORE RBI for SAP App that AsInt developed is configurable to support any RBI, from fully qualitative to fully quantitative. The models, or what we like to think of as SAP Master Data content, we provide out of the box are:

  • API 581 3rd

  • API 580 Semi-Quantitative

  • AsInt RBI+ (hybrid of API 5813rd on mechanisms side, with easier to understand consequence side)

AsInt will add more models overtime, for example the European RIMAP is something we are looking to prepackage.

However, because CORE RBI for SAP is configurable, Owner/Users who have developed their own RBI methodologies can BYOM (Bring Your Own Model). The two Apps shown here are used to create tables, matrices, create algorithms and recommendations, and extend the SAP Master Data.

What is the difference between condition and predictive maintenance and how do I perform this in the SAP solution?

Here is a high-level definition of a Condition Based vs. Predictive maintenance program

  • Condition Based Maintenance - Scheduled inspection and maintenance based on the “condition” found during the previous assessment of the asset. This assessment resets the clock on predefined inspection intervals that are defined by codes and standards or by corporate policy.

  • Predictive Based Maintenance - Based on parameters such as Defined Damage Mechanisms, Design, Construction, Process, etc. algorithms may be applied to “predict” the next due date for inspection and maintenance. This could come in the form or Risk Based Inspection, analyzing process data from the data historian, or possibly a strong MTTF (Mean Time to Failure) calculation from RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance).

The SAP Intelligent Asset Management (IAM) suite of products allow for both approaches. For example, a condition based assessment can be executed with the SAP ASPM (Asset Strategy and Performance Management) Checklist and AsInt CORE Inspection Apps. Additionally, SAP PdMS (Predictive Maintenance and Service) and SAP ASPM RCM, can be used for Predictive Based determination.
